You Don't Have to be Extreme, Just Consistent

Pause. I know you've seen this quote while scrolling through social media. I know I have numerous times. I actually had this quote directed towards me in my conquering 75 Hard. It stung a little, okay maybe not a little....a lot, because it really made me realize that I am an extreme person. For about a week, it really impacted me in thinking that maybe I'm "too much". I toiled with this quote, really thought and dwelled on it until I realized, it is who I am!

As I paid more attention to my personality traits and social media, I realized how there is a certain expected societal "norm". What fun is that? Who wants normal? I am intrigued by all things that are abnormal. What's wrong with extreme? Evil Knievel was extreme, but yet his stunts were filled with an audience cheering on his extreme ideas. In the Bible, Job went through extreme circumstances and in the end, God blessed him twice as much. Don't forget Paul, he went extreme from one end of the pendulum to the other; killing christians to being one. If you ask me (even if you don't, but I'm still going to tell you)....being extreme seems to have it's advantages.

In a world where many are trying to fit in, why not take the challenge of being extreme? I take pride in being extreme because dang it, I just love life.Extreme has gotten me to a lot of places that being consistent wouldn’t have. Extreme has allowed me to learn some valuable lessons that being consistent would have never allowed me to experience.I love that I'm healthy enough to kick my own butt in my workout goals.I'm proud of finishing my personal training certification and working on my nutritionist because there was a time when I was pleading with God to make me better and healthy enough to go back to a "normal" life. So, if you think my routine is "extreme", well come join me because I'm just excited to be able to pick up weights and I always love good company. If you think my constant enrollment in college courses is extreme, just know that I'm proud of myself for continuing college and being the first in my family to graduate with a degree after having a teen pregnancy, going through a divorce, healing and finding my soul mate who loves my extreme (always supports all my extreme ideas). If you think my celebrations of all the little things life has is extreme, just know I make the same big productions over beautiful sunrises/sunsets and sceneries because I'm thankful for every day I'm given to live this life. I may be extreme but I'm also consistent. Consistent in loving my family and all people (even those who have hurt me because they need love and kindness, too), consistent in being me because you can consistently count on me to be EXTREME.

If being extreme terrifies you, don't let it. Being mediocre to appease the world should be more terrifying. Do you, be you and most all....... LIVE LIFE BIG!
